Afterschool Program Manager
Reporting to the Director of School Operations. The Afterschool Program Manager will lead the operations, programming, and oversight of our afterschool program. Job Responsibility:
Program Coordination & Site Management

Lead the daily operations of the after-school program, including scheduling, rosters, purchasing, and attendance tracking.

Work collaboratively with the Network Director of Extended Day and DSO to design a robust afterschool program that serves and engages BPCS students and aligns with the organization’s mission and priorities.

Serve as the primary point of contact for the afterschool program, ensuring clear communication with students, families, staff, and leadership.

Work with the Network Director of Extended Day to coordinate and facilitate quarterly program-wide staff development opportunities.

Collaborate with Network Director of Extended Day and Ed Specialist to develop and implement leadership programming.

Provide direct support and coverage to after-school staff and activity specialists when needed.

Work collaboratively with the Director of School Operations (DSO), Principal, and Network Director of Extended Day (NDED) to design robust programming aligned with student interests and network priorities.

Coordinate the planning and implementation of seasonal offerings (e.g., summer camps, spring/summer academies, credit recovery programs).

Facilitate bi-weekly coordination meetings with school-based stakeholders to ensure alignment across school functions.

Promote a safe, inclusive, and affirming environment that centers social-emotional learning (SEL), family engagement, and anti-racist practices.
Staff Supervision & Development

Hire, onboard, train, and mentor after-school program staff, athletics coordinator, including club facilitators, coaches, and external partners.

Conduct performance evaluations, offer ongoing support, and facilitate quarterly staff development opportunities in collaboration with the Network Director of Extended Day.

Develop systems that support behavior management, student supports, and special education coordination, in partnership with school staff.
Family Engagement & Community Building

Partner with families to enhance program engagement, leveraging school-based marketing and communication platforms.

Identify and support key opportunities for the afterschool office to host specialized family events.

Create systems for consistent communication and relationship-building with caregivers.
Budgeting & Resource Management

Manage all after school and athletics budgets in coordination with the DSO, Principal, and NDED.

Forecast and track monthly expenses to ensure alignment with school priorities and stay within budget limits.

Procure supplies, equipment, and services in accordance with BPCS purchasing policies.

Maintain accurate financial records, process invoices, and update ASP budget tools for audits.

Provide monthly expense reports and track ASP employee hours via ADP.
Compliance, Safety & Facilities

Ensure all after school and athletics programming is in full compliance with NYSED regulations, internal BPCS policies, and league guidelines.

Develop and implement safety and emergency procedures in collaboration with the School Operations team.

Coordinate with school foods and operations teams to ensure snack distribution and maintain compliance records.

Reserve and manage space usage across school calendars; maintain systems for internal communication, landing pages, and marketing platforms.

Serve as school safety liaison, attending monthly check-ins and supporting site-based safety coordination.
Required skills:

Bachelor’s Degree required
-
2+ year experience management experience
-
2+ years experience working as an after-school provider in a non-profit organization

Budget management experience
-
Experience in management and sustaining high quality teams

Experience in curriculum development and implementation

Excellent relationship management skills and the ability to work with various stakeholders (both internally and externally) at all organizational levels

High levels of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook

Strong work ethic and impeccable attention to detail

Experience in project management
-
Understanding of DOH & child care program compliance
Strongly preferred skills:

Proven experience in program management, youth development, or educational leadership.

Salary: $62,000 - $85,822 annually
