Serving Kindergarten through Twelfth grade, Brooklyn Prospect pairs students with excellent teachers in a college preparatory environment using the International Baccalaureate program. We prepare students to become global citizens and help them to develop the love of learning that provides the foundation for lifelong personal and academic success. This position reports to the after school Program Manager and supports serving our Sixth - Eighth grade student population. This role will work closely with individuals across the organization on all issues related to the efficiency and effectiveness of running our Middle School after school program.

About the Role
Brooklyn Prospect Charter School is seeking an Program Aide to support our After school program's day-to-day management and operations. The after school Program Aide will assist in the overall administration of BPCS's after school, including but not limited to: scheduling and promotion of activities, record keeping, data reporting, some communicating with parents & school staff, and support the organization of special events. The ideal candidate is an energetic self-starter who possesses after school programming, administrative skills and works collaboratively with peers. Our Aides will serve as mentors to youth ages 11-14 and may facilitate and moderate special activities, ensuring all program participants' safety.
Responsibilities

Promote the concepts of teamwork, fair play, and sportsmanship inclusive of ultimate responsibility for youth's behavior during activities.

Prep supplies necessary for daily activities, i.e., attendance forms, walkie talkies, sports equipment.

Assist in safety procedures and hallways transitions of students in ratio 1:15

Lead icebreaker activities to get students acquainted with each other

Manage school-based marketing materials, i.e., updating bulletin boards, posting flyers, and creating decorative spaces for ASP participants to enjoy. Order supplies and prep food for student activities/events.

Assist with the Program set up, snack/supper, and clean up. Use a snack tracker if applicable.

Oversee inventory usage and storage of all program supplies.

Assist in maintaining program-related documentation; this includes:

Manage an online database & student files

Manage attendance tracker & DYCD connect for daily activities and monthly events,
-
Support Program Manager in data entry by using program reporting tools to manage enrollment, Rate of Participation, demographics, etc.

Support the Program Manager by updating the staff compliance tracker.

Create material to promote after school enrichment offerings, special events and help implement retention strategies.
Qualifications

A minimum of a high school diploma with some college

Mandatory fingerprint & background check

Experience with data entry and proficiency in Google Suite and Canva

Experience working in Youth & Development and a desire to mentor youth,
-
Understands the importance of being responsible, reliable, and punctual

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required

Ability to perform conflict resolution
Salary: $20 - $25 per hour
